Biswa Bangla encourages innovation,
provides design assistance, opens direct sales points, improves quality and supply
chains for
the handloom and handicraft products of the state under the brand Biswa Bangla. It also
focusses
on back-end interventions to develop new products so that more weavers and artisans can
be
brought under the project; and on reviving products that have almost disappeared. Biswa
Bangla
brand was launched in the Synergy MSME Conclave 2013, at Milan Mela on 16th September
2013 by
the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal.
These activities serve to provide increased access and support to the craftspersons,
weavers and
their work. Biswa Bangla has opened showrooms at the Kolkata and Bagdogra Airports,
Dakshinapan
and Rajarhat in Kolkata and on Kharag Singh Marg in Delhi.

Outlet offer a comprehensive platform for exhibition and sale while creating a good

the traditional artisans under the banner of Department of MSME&T. The more exciting
part is
for art-loving tourists and consumers to see and experience the display of
craftsmanship.
Biswa Bangla Outlets have evolved as major craft hub selling souvenir and merchandising
and
attracting domestic and International businesses / visitors / buyers. Biswa Bangla will
later
also be developed to have e-commerce facilities and will be linked to grass-root

Smt Mamata Banerjee on Aug'14th '2014 held at Netaji Indoor Stadium.
Biswa Bangla store in Darjeeling, under which the state’s handloom and handicraft products are being promoted and sold. The store in Darjeeling has been opened at Manjushree, along Nehru Road near Chowrastha, where local products such as pickle, juice, bed-sheets and shirts made of khadi, and Kanjeevaram sarees, besides decorative handicrafts, have been put on display. This is the second such store in Darjeeling district. The basic aim is to promote and market local traditional handloom and handicrafts.

Biswa Bangla is a single umbrella organization showcasing our living heritage, reviving
and
promoting the handloom and handicraft products of West Bengal. It is an initiative that
benefits
the livelihoods of thousands of traditional craftsmen and weavers by improving the
visibility
and growth of the handloom and handicrafts sector. Fifth Biswa Bangla showroom at the
Bagdogra
Airport inaugurated at Bagdogra Airport on 19th June’ 2015 by Honble Chief Minister.
On January 7, 2015 rural artisans and craftsmen assembled to display their pride at Eco Park in New Town with the inauguration of 'Biswa Bangla Haat'. Spread across 4.5 acres, the artisans have permanent stalls and platforms to showcase their products on rotation basis. They able to demonstrate how their products are made as prospective customers watch.
