Heavenly Glenburn is one of the most famous plantation retreats in West Bengal. It lies on a valley above the banks of the River Rungeet, high in the Himalayas, overlooked by the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range. Apart from being a tourist destination Glenburn is known for producing the finest Darjeeling tea. It specializes in Black tea, but also produces other varieties. Glenburn Fine Tea embodies the belief that tea should be delicious to drink and should uplift the spirit and senses of the tea connoisseur. Established in 1859 by a Scottish tea company, Glenburn Tea Estate has been run by the Kolkata-based Prakash family for four generations. The elevation of the tea estate varies from 1,000 to 3,000 feet (300 to 910 m).
