The main attraction of Rimbik is the striking view of the Kanchenjunga the world's third highest peak and other frozen pinnacles. The psychedelic play of colours on the snowy surfaces of the titans has to be seen to be believed.
Tiffin Dara is a popular and famous viewpoint of the Neora Valley National Park known for the picturesque views of the sunrise it offers, alongside panoramic vistas of the deep silent pine forests and glimpses of the mighty Himalayas. An excellent view of the big sky on top of the snow-capped Khang-Chen-D-Zongha is a special gift which brings tourists to Tiffin Dara. Some parts of Nathu La and Jalep La are also visible from here.
It is not difficult to reach Tiffin Dara especially for the adventure lovers because it's only 3 km uphill from Rishyap through the dense forest filled with birch, pine, fir trees and different varieties of orchids. Rishop can be reached by train, rail and also by air. The nearest railway station is New Jalpiguri which is 116 km drive from Rishyap. The nearest airport is Bagdogra from where hired cars, trekkers, jeeps is available to reach Rishyap. It is only 126 km taking 4.5 hours approximately to reach the destination. From Lava to Rishop, its a 30 minutes drive and from Kalimpong it's one hour drive.
A relatively new destination, this is the hill station just across the hill from Rishop. The aerial distance could hardly be 3 km but the road from Rishop to Kolakham travel through Lava and the total distance is about 21 km. The village is adjacent to Neora Valley National Park and the famous Changey falls is about 5 km further from Kolakham. From Kolakham the lush valley and the rolling hills stretch north as far as the eyes can see. In the west, they end at the foot of the Kanchenjunga. In clear weather, the snowy peaks of Kabru, Kabrudome, Kanchenjunga and Pandim stand out against the stretched sky. Enthusiasts can go for a walk on the jungle trail. The chance of coming across wildlife is quite high here. A trek of 5 km will take to the beautiful Changey falls.
Board New Jalpaiguri bound train and get off at the NJP junction then hire car from there to arrive at Kolakham which will take 123 km around 5 hours to reach. The car can also follow the Gorubathan route which takes 117 km marginally less than that of Siliguri. Bagdogra is the closest airport from where rented car is available.
